Which Kind Of Race Suits Best for Hord Death Knight?

Since every race in the game can play as Death Knight, this can be quite a difficult choice. While most people choose their race based on the looks of the race, another option is to look at the abilities and stats of each race before choosing.

However, I must say I support going for the race you think looks the best. Personally I play a Tauren Death Knight for several reasons. I love Taurens, the bigger the better, and nothing looks more evil than a big DK Tauren with a big 2-hander weapon. Besides that, I also enjoy the occasional Role playing (which is why I play on a RPPVP server), and I guess Tauren just suit my personality and character ingame. Time to dive into the stats. Each race has different stats and abilities available, so lets break it down into Horde and Alliance, and look at each race stats and racial traits. In this post I will only be looking at the Horde Races, but stay tuned for another post soon about the Best Alliance Race for Death Knight Leveling.

Tauren are a strong big race, and personally my favorite as far as looks for a Death Knight. Talking pure stats they have the highest base strength, although this does not matter much later in the game. Look at their racial traits, they have War Stomp which is mostly for PVP, but can be pretty effective to get you out of a bad situation without having to die and corpse run while leveling. Furthermore they have Endurance, which increase Base Health with 5% – again pretty nice while leveling!

Orcs have some really nice racial treats. Looking at the stats they start with, they are a strong class, and with Hardiness the duration of stun effects is reduced by 15% – although mostly just useful in PVP, and not really useful while leveling. They also have Command, which increases the damage dealt by your Death Knight pet by 5% – not a bad thing for a DK. Finally they have Blood Fury, which will increase your attack power for 15 seconds, a pretty nice bonus damage while leveling. They also have Axe Specialization, which makes them just a tad bit better with axes than other races. As a Death knight leveling, you will probably spend quite a lot of the time with a big 2-hand axe, so again not a bad treat.

Trolls are a race I find quite cool. And if you look at the racial traits they have, it is also pretty nice for leveling. Berserking can increase your overall DPS (Damage per Second) and make your leveling time faster and easier, while Regeneration means you will get your life back faster and have less down time eating and preparing for the next fight. All in all a good class for fast leveling.
